Changes in Traveling

As many of you know, Haiti was struck with a huge disaster that has created major chaos in Haiti. I still intend on going down and helping out at the YWAM base, except that what I will be doing is going to probably be more earthquake relief oriented. Because of the ensuing chaos, this past Friday during my dinner break at work in the kitchen at Lancaster Bible College, I received a troubling phone call regarding my flight to Haiti this coming Saturday. The airlines cancelled the flights to Port au Prince till about March. So the next step was to try and get into the Dominican Republic and drive over to Haiti. Saturday my grandmother was able to get my flights all switched at no extra cost. The new plan is to fly into Santo Domingo on Feb 1st. From there it's about an hour taxi ride to the YWAM base in the DR. I will be spending the night there because of the dangers of driving at night in Haiti. I will then be riding 6 hours to the border of Haiti and DR where YWAM Haiti will meet me and take me the rest of the way to St. Marc (about a 4 hour drive). Please pray for safety in my travels, Haiti and the earthquake, and that my support will keep coming in! One week to go!!

I'm going back to Haiti!

After my first 2 days in Haiti, I definitely did not think I would ever be going back, but after that awesome week I spent down there just half a year ago, I knew God didn't intend for that to be my only time down there. If your reading this, thank you for your support and encouragement towards this opportunity. I will be leaving January 30th, just 3 weeks from tomorrow, and I will be there till May 1st. I am going down to the YWAM base in St. Marc where I will be helping out as a volunteer staff doing anything and everything. I am really excited to see how God is going to work in me and through me over these next 3 months! If electricity and technology permits, I will try to update this everyday, but since you never know when you will have electricity in Haiti, it might be more like every 2-3 days. I will be able to skype while I'm down there if anyone is interested just let me know via email (diet3162@lbc.edu) or my Facebook page. Well, I think I've said everything I wanted to say for now, so I'll probably update this right before I leave. Goodbye.
